Guys,

Would seriously like some help. I am looking to cool the following kit:

Corsair 600T
MIS Z77-GD55
Intel 2600K @4.2GHz
8gb DDR3
MSI Radeon 290

Now from memory I have a XSPC D5 from about 5-6 years ago. So it's everything but the pump really!

Would like it to be UV blue (gotta look nice) and maybe a res as well.

Not into customising the case, Dremel is firmly hidden away ;)

Cheers!

You want to cool the motherboard and ram as well? just checking.

The case appears somewhat limiting on rad space without modding.

There are mods with a 360mm rad which would be ok but requires cutting the roof.

Otherwise it appears a 200mm and a 120mm rad would be the only option.

Looking to cool purely the CPU and the GPU. I guess I could cut the top if it means I can fit 360... :)

Im not 100% sure on the etiquette of linking to another forum here so ill just say search google for "corsair 600t watercooling" its the corsair forum link.

Shows a simple mod of fitting a 360mm to the roof :)

Also spotted one with a 240mm in the roof (2nd fan partially cut off from air supply) and a 200mm in the front. Could be a good backup plan if you decide the dremel fun would be pushing it a bit.

Do you have an ideal max budget? Any preferences on colors other than the coolant? (eg. black or chrome fittings? barbs/compression?)

Not really thinking about budget, let's say around £300 or lower if possible.

Definitely compression rather than barbs. I have been looking OcUK and like the look of the black chrome fittings, works with the rest of the components I have.

Will take a look at the modding article, quiet handy with a Dremel :D

Taken a look around and if I am having to cut the case then I would fit a 240 in the front as well. Here is my list, if people have suggestions please let me know :)

The other option is a Corsair H100i and an Arctic Accelero Hybrid VGA Cooler :D

Total : £299.75

Looks good but what about the fans?

Only note I will say is get a HF version of the cpu block theyre higher flow.

Other than that its pretty much what I had specced bar using hardware labs rather than xspc

Pay the extra bit of cash and upgrade the supreme to a supremacy!

The supreme will work but the loop will only be as good as the blocks it has to transfer the heat. Sure the supreme will work well enough but it is still entry level WCing and if you are spending this much on wcing kit, then might as well pay the extra 15-20 and get a high end block!

My bad shows how long ago since I brought ek kit :( It is called the supremacy now rather than the HF :(

but thats two votes to upgrade it :)

and just to throw another option in there have a look at "scythe gentle typhoon" my personal favorite fans(and a lot of others favorites).

For fans I have a few Scythe fans in the loft and also two Noctua NF-P12 fans plus a couple I already have in the case.

After Christmas will look at getting five Scythe Gentle Typhoon fans. Do people just run these at a constant speed and bypass PWM etc? Looking for a quiet rig so constant fan speed (compromise between cooling and noise).

Do I need the backplace for the GPU block or is that purely cosmetic?

Ok so taking peoples advice upgraded the CPU block and added some blue Mayhem UV dye.

Gt are 3 pin fans. I run mine via a fan controller because my mobo doesn't allow 3pin fan profiles. If your going blue why not get the premixed

So based on all of the feedback I think (unless anybody has any other suggestions) this covers it:

Not theres anything wrong with mayhems ultra pure but you can save a considerable amount by buying deionized from a local chemist. I purchased 10litres for £3.00.

Youd also need some extra to wash out the rads before installing them. So 2 litres may not quite cut it.

I used the blue dye you currently specced so I could control the color somewhat. My friend used the premix Ragnahex linked and it looks amazing. So up to you if you want to save a few quid.

As for controlling the noise I got myself a lamptron fc-touch controller 30 watts per channel. I run 18 scythe gt and a ddc 18 watt pump off it. Lovely and quite.

You can also place the temp included temp probes around the case and set ceilings o once the case hits 40c all fans and pump go up to full power until sorted.

I keep de-ionised water to flush and use mostly pre-mixes for all my loops. Pre-mixes have the advantage of not needing kill-coils/bio-sides and anti-corrosives. Due to the nature of dyes, pre-mixes (depending on which one) tend to stain tubing less over long periods of time. My premix of choice has always been something from mayhems, as they are reliable and there is plenty of support available here on this forum (from other mayhem users or from the rep).

If i get desperate for coolant, i top up with some distilled water if there isn't any coolant left. De-ionised water is essentially the same thing for something like watercooling, except the process to de-ionise water doesn't remove all organic material in there, but biocide from pre-mixes should take care of the fraction which survived the process.

So I think this is the final shopping list, Will get some de-ionised water to flush the system and perform a leak test.

the 600t would be able to cool your GPU/CPU fine with WC'ing , you can do a 200mm in the front, a 240mm at the top and if you are lucky and have the clearance a 120mm on the rear. although the 200 front/240+ top is most common and you shouldn't need to add a 120 on the rear. this is without any mods to the case.

with mods a 360 top, double wide 240mm(2x240mm next to each other as one) and 120mm rear is totally possible but super overkill

If it were me, 360 top, 200 front and maybe 120 rear for the luls. I've already cut up my 600t to take the front 200mm cheese hole type metal out, it increases the overall airflow and decreases noise I can't stress how good that simple mod is and once you do that you might as well go for 360 top :)

480(240 double wide) in a 600t: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18285464&highlight=startername_joxang

Thanks murah, only reason I went for the 240 rather than the 200 was cost tbh and also I can choose from a wider range of 120 fans.

Having said that with the 200 I don't need to butcher the 5 1/4" bay with the Dremel :)

Looked that build a few times now :)

All this because I bought a Radeon 290 and it is too damn loud :p
