I look forward to your comments and suggestions

Thanks!!!

I'd also opt to get the BenQ LED monitor over the samsung for a little more.

Swap the Artic Silver 5 for MX-3, and i'd also look at a cheaper (but just as efficient power supply) for half that price. I got a coolermaster 1000W modular pro for the same price as that corsair! :)

yeah the difference would be in the build quality though and if you have a budget like that then why not opt for quality parts?

I wouldn't get those headphones, treat yourself and get a set of Sennheiser HD515's! The rest looks good though but as mentioned you might want to get a 6gb triple channel kit rather then dual channel kit.

If you want to save some money without dropping performance, consider an LGA1156 Core i5 760 setup with 2x HD5770’s in Crossfire. I know Sandy Bridge will be replacing 1156 but so what? I never replace the CPU without replacing the motherboard anyway so I can’t see this being a big deal unless you want to wait.

Get a larger SSD and a better screen.

You'll fill 80GB fast with Windows 7 / Creative Suite / Visual Studio / Max/Maya and some games.

Any kind of visual work will benefit from a better screen. The Dell UltraSharp U2410 24" is very good.

Ok, here's the build:

You really need a sound card if you want to make a use of any decent speakers/headsets.

The PSU will be good enough to power an oced CPU and Crossfire 5870s. Coolermaster suggested above is... bad.

Monitor I speced you has an IPS panel. You'll see the difference as soon as you power it up.

Nothing more to add tbh, have fun building it up :)

Also, on the chair:

Ikea's Markus Chair. Comes in four colours, and the black one is £90 in store. Very comfortable!! But the monitor i'd go for is the BenQ LED one, a lot cheaper :)

Well as it stands am ready to order, so I probably check this thread throughout the day, post my final choice, before I order everything tonight. Suggestions and replies have been great, I have tried to respond to everyone.

you have only selected dual channel memory for an i7 you want triple channel

Guess huge error there thanks for spotting that

I'd also opt to get the BenQ LED monitor over the samsung for a little more.

Seems a lot of people recommend this monitor so I definitely drop the Samsung, I only chose Samsung over it because it had HDMI input

Swap the Artic Silver 5 for MX-3, and i'd also look at a cheaper... . I got a coolermaster 1000W modular pro for the same price as that corsair! :)

I probably stick with the corsair as it seems to be much better quality.

I wouldn't get those headphones, treat yourself and get a set of Sennheiser HD515's!

Seems I drop the head phones too, nobody seems impressed by them haha

I'd definately swap out the intel SSD for this one:

I have to admit I was relectant with getting an SSD purely due to size and wasnt even going to include it, seems everyone recommends the Crucial RealSSD brand so looks like I be going down that root.

you don't really need a gaming mouse pad

I probably don't but I get it anyway :)

Ok, here's the build:
This looks like an excellent build which I seriously might consider

Also, on the chair:

Ikea's Markus Chair. Comes in four colours, and the black one is £90 in store. Very comfortable!! But the monitor i'd go for is the BenQ LED one, a lot cheaper :)

Thanks for the suggestion on the chair, I definitely be going for that

Another build that looks great, I defnitely take off one of the GTX 480's and gelid coolers to bring the price down if I was to go for this

Never had an AMD processor before which could be interesting, also 5850 x2 not to sure about.

As I said earlier, that SSD is too small.

I have a 128GB one, and have had to use NTFS junctions a lot to move the Profiles and lesser used stuff onto my regular Harddisk.

Windows 7, Creative Suite, Office, Visual Studio & a game or two fill 90-100GB easily.

64GB is not too small for any OS install. I mean, i know Windows 7 is bloated and all but there's no way it uses more than 30GB, at a guess. I use OS's that don't come close to filling 256MB...

I have a measly 30gb Kingston SSD

Win7 Home Premium, with hibernating turmed off, only uses 20GB. I have 10 spare for updates.

Plenty for an OS drive.

It's fine for the OS, it's tight for the OS + Profile + Apps.
