Completely forgotten how to overclock CPU and RAM :(

My E8400 has been perfectly happy sitting at 3.6GHz with 400*9. However I've noticed my RAM timings are 6-6-6-18 :eek:

5:6 ratio

I recall a link between fiddling with the cpu and that affecting the ram, but I can't remember how to sort it out.

I realise I sound like a complete novice and shouldn't even be thinking about o/cing, but I've done it before, honest!

I had a look and followed the basic instructions but the timings aren't dropping according to CPU-Z. I'm really rather lost here

Well with running 400fsb you will probably want to run the memory as 1:1 (sometimes called 2.00 in BIOS) as for the memory timings, you just change AUTO to MANUAL and set them yourself

The timings aren't linked to the FSB. So just set the timings manually.

Remember that most ram needs to the VDIMM raising from 1.8v to its rated VDIMM to be capable of the tighter memory timings.
