I'm looking at getting a new chair. My current one was a decent one from Ikea but the hydraulic is gone and keeps randomly dropping, causing me to crap myself every time.

However I'd actually like a gaming chair but I only have a budget of around £100. £150 at a push. What would you recommend? I literally have 0 knowledge about any gaming chairs.

Cheers in advance.

Edit: Would prefer fabric over leather.

Personally, I would avoid the 'Gaming Chair' malarkey. You are not getting ANYTHING leather for £100 so can rule that out straight away.

Your budget is not that big, what are you priorities?

I'd be putting my cash into a half decent chair and not diluting it into the "Gaming" moniker or useless features.

£100-150 might buy you some decent 2nd hand office chairs if you look in the right place.

Just after a comfortable fabric chair in that sort of price range. I did notice theres a lot of chairs on OC for around 130-160. I'd be willing to fork this much out but I'm struggling to find any reviews or information.

I actually pass a super Ikea on the way home from work everyday. Defo will go have a look today. Thank you :)

If you are not afraid of a bit of DIY the Ikea Markus chair has some promise because the arm rests are bolted solely to the seat and not to the back cushion. That means you can remove or add other custom aids quite easily.

I know we all have different needs and expectations from a chair, but as it happens I was in Ikea last weekend and tried the Markus while I was there, to me at lest it felt very cheap and poorly constructed, not to say uncomfortable as well, but without actually being cheap...

I like their basic chairs like the Flintan, but the Markus just didn't feel like it was worth more than twice a Flintan (having a Deadpool flashback now :) )

You could go second hand? You could possibly find something like a nice Herman Miller with your budget. There are companies that specialise in selling 2nd hand office furniture.

Just get the thickest looking bottom cushioned padded faux leather or fabric one within budget if the padding looks thin then it normally is uncomfortable.
A thick padded £50-£100 with tilt recline etc should still last you 10 years or so.Depends on usage I guess if you spend a lot of time in it moving about lounging i'd go down the soft cushiony route over office hard cushioned but ergonomic.
