I've been playing the trial. Today I've received (all brand new) the battle chest (WoW + Burning Crusade) I've also received Lich King.

I have installed all 3.

I've gone into Manage Account and there's a section for upgrading my trial account. I've entered the Authentication key from the original WoW DVD sleeve exactly but it keeps saying it's invalid.

In the help section is says to fill out a web form but I can't seem to find a drop down item for Authentication key issues. I've just read that the queue on the web form is 3 - 5 weeks!

Am I doing something wrong or what? This is very frustrating, it's the final day of my trial today as well Grrr

Dude call up their accounts team - its not a free phone number but the service is usually pretty good. So long as you can give them the cd key most of the time they should be able to help you :)

I don't know if it's case sensitive, but are you using capital letters when entering the code? I've just checked the code on my WoW disc and the letters are all in capitals.

I think I've found the problem. It seems the trial was on a US server and being in the EU the Authentication codes only work on EU servers. So it looks like I have to create a new account and start all over again :( I'm gutted I'd done so many quests in the short 10 day trial!

All Authenticated up now on the new account. Unless I missed it when I registered for the trial it didn't say anywhere about the US/Eu thing. I didn't even know it was split in 2!

I did the same thin when I signed me and my girlfriend up, me one day on the european site and someohow managed to register her on the US server.

Any idea how I can get a Blizzard Authenticator at a reasonable price? They're £4.80 on the blizzard site but it's credit card only and I don't use one. On ebay they're going for £13+ which seems a stupid markup.

i looked at them a while back i think if you buy them from blizzard it's about £9.00 postage on top as well, a bit of a rip off.

Just seen the postage costs, more than the authenticator itself! I think I'll get one anyway for little extra peace of mind.

You must have thought the WoW servers were really laggy when playing on the US trial. :p

Nope! Didn't experience any lag at all.
