Juddering media playback due to X-fi drivers

I'm having a few problems that i have narrowed down to the creative X-Fi drivers. Basically any media judders, playing second chunks and then stopping for a second before playing again.

I've had this problem once or twice before and found that completely uninstalling the card solved the problem. This involved deleteing a few directories and uninstalling the card from device manager. Unfortunately the list of directories that i deleted are no longer up on the creative site. I remember there being a temp folder, and one other but their locations escape me. Any ideas?

*update* found the instructions, they're here
unfortunatley this didnt seem to solve the problem like it usually does, so any suggestions?

Is the card in the furthest PCI slot away from the graphics card? Is the BIOS up-to-date along with Windows, DirectX and Chipset Drivers?

When you removed all the old drivers, did you also try using Driver Cleaner Pro. I think that can remove Creative stuff as well. :)
