Complex 360 connectivity question - i think :)

Right,

I have just joined the ranks of the 360 owners

with a premium bundle inc COD3 GOW (goddam I hate beserkers!)

Now I have the component cable from the 360 to use.
I have a Holdan hsr1000 auto scart router/switch which my sky box and amp connected too.
I also have an epson EMP TW10H projector connected to the switch via an RGB-SCART to component lead.

The projector support HD and has HD15 (VGA) input plus RGB-S component input and s-video.

Now currently I have had to use the composite to scart converter to connect the Xbox to the scart router.

But! I want to see HD goodness!!! soooooo how do I do it?

I have found a RGB to scart converter on a popuplar auction site but haven't been able to contact the seller yet to ensure it will support HD signals.

The only other option I can come up with is to buy the Xbox VGA lead and a long vga lead as the projector is on the other side of the room mounted on the wall and I can find a suitable lead that actually says it carries HD! now I'm pretty sure they all will but would just like to be sure.

any one got any thoughts?

does that even make sense?

Do not get this confused with composite which is what is commonly found converted into a scart plug.

A scart lead RGB or composite will never give a hd signal from a 360.

You will need to either plug it in the vga or component.

Yep I appreciate that but there are component to scart converters and this scart router is a specific rgb-scart router not just a std scart switch.

Any thoughts on long VGA leads. (need 10m)

Oh really, damn. What about the Xbox rgb lead? thats supposed to carry the HD signal? is it just determined by what you plug it into then?

Ok now i'm confused, I have gone back to the manual and it says the following. Im only picking out the supported display resolution that mention HDTV.

Component Video.
HDTV (750p) 1280 x 720
16:9

HDTV (1125p) 1920 x 1080
16:9

Analog RGB (VGA)
HDTV (750p) 1280 x 720
16:9

HDTV (1125p) 1920 x 1080
16:9

so it would seem it does support HD over component and VGA I think a little bit of testing is in order. Unfortunately it says very little else ref HDTV.
