Ok so i've had a driving license since 5th augest 2005, and on the 30th of augest i got stopped for invalid insurance, and will be appearing in court on friday the 17th of november.

My current insurance policy expires on the 24th of november.

So say in the event i lost my driving license on friday, and then re-applyed and passed a month later or so. Then i would re-new my insurance then to drive my own car.

When applying how long have i had my driving license for?
And would my 1 yr NCB count?

Just want to clear these questions up, so i get it all right.

Mmm I think you get banned from the day you appear in court. Therefore you won't complete a years of insurance and won't get 1 years NCB. That's how i'd imagine it anyway...

EDIT - That's if you get a ban, which I'd imagine you would?

But is this the case, would that cancel my insurance policy, just cos ** banned cant you have insurance?

If you get 6 points and the lisence revokked, do they take it straight away, or do you need to wait for the DVLA to contact you?

What if i got say a 21 day ban, as many have suggested could be a route, would my insurance carry on as normal in this situation?

I know this is the most obvious thing to do here, but why not... phone your insurance company and ask them?

Because Im looking for future quotes, and scanning different cars to get an idea of what i can afford, Also im sure many are shut at this time of a sunday evening.

Driving with no insurance, I'd imagine it would be pretty hard to insure most things!

Read your insurance doc's it'll say there. And I'm guessing it'll say if banned then you policy will be cancelled with no money back! (That's a logical guess by me!)

Maybe, its pretty expensive to get quotes. Its bad if i lose my NCB aswell. As its 7 days from the end of policy.

Anyone have any factual answers rather than guessing?

1. Wait until tomorrow morning
2. Pick up telephone
3. Dial your insurance company's phone number
4. Speak to human being who can tell you what will happen
5. Get (hopefully correct) answer

Replying to yourself because nobody's replied in 4 minutes won't help either

So does anyone know for fact if you get your lisence revoked you lose your NCB?

Well I know for a fact that on my insurance one of the conditions is that you hold a full, valid uk driving license. Thats with NU, Tesco were the same before.

Though as said above ringing the insurance co is the best way to get a 100% definite answer.
