Isnt it only plc's who have named directors as a matter of public record?

You should be able to request a copy of the register online via the companies' house website. It'll cost you £1 :).

Won't get the names of the directors though - if they've opted out of public disclosure.

wnb - What's the name of the company if I may be so bold? Where based (if known) Send detail to me via private message if you like.
Might be able to help.

You can't specify non public disclosure. Directors names are a matter of public record and as such are available to the public.

You most certainly can. Companies are able to exploit a clause allowing for non-public disclosure of directors. This clause is used legitimately by directors of companies such as Huntingdon Life Sciences http://www.huntingdon.com/ who don't want to be woken up at three in the morning by hairy animal rights protestors, etc.
Companies who mean to do wrong (rip people off for a living) are able to claim this clause by various means and so remain anon.
