end of the month, then wait and revisit this thread then.

prices can change dramatically, and the ATI 6990 and Nvidia GTX590 will be out by then, meaning UBER GAMING!!!!

What I wouldn't give to have that sort of money knocking around. Getting married next month so I am going to be poor for the next god knows how long.

and marry your computer?

But yea, doas stulid says and wait for the new high end gpus to beout a few days/couple of weeks and see how it drives prices down on the GPU's out now. It depends on the RRP, as if its £600 it wont make much difference, but if they come in at 4-500 then everything else should drop down a bit.

Im beginning to regret forgetting I was waiting for 590's and bought a ton more storage.....savings may have to be raided if prices settle in less than two months.

lol.. im quite looking forward to be honest :D might even strech to 3k on a computer lol . or would that be taking the pis* ?? lol :P:P

what you going to be using this computer for?

personally, i wouldn't spend more than £1K at max, a £2K computer will be worth £1K within 6 months, also within 2 years time you would be able to buy a computer for £500, that will be equal to whatever £2K buys you today.

its best to go for bang for buck and upgrade often, rather than buy once and keep it for a long time due to how fast components advance within short spaces of time.

also if i was in your shoes with 10K compensation, a computer would be the last thing i would buy. i would buy something which increases in value (gold, property, etc) rather than something which depreciates, then in a few months/years time you can cash it in when you need it.

its your money, but i can safely say most people would regret spending £2K on a pc within a year or two.

Is there honestly any games playing which require a high spec pc? I spent about 1.3k on a pc for Christmas and have been regretting it since as theres nothing which requires the hardware.
Spent the money on a safety at work course, actually scrap that you'll make more cash having accidents!

When Battlefield 3 and Crysis 2 are out, yes! Then we'll have to see what Moder Warfare 3 throws out...

If you get a monitor, mouse, headset, keyboard - all high quality already nearly 1k will be spent on those things which in my opinion add a lot of value to the PC itself, I would spend 1.2k in a pc with Water cooling and the rest on accessories :D

I would disagree there. £200-250 for a good monitor will get you 27" probably. £40-70 on a mouse, £60-100 on a keyboard. £40-70 on a headset. Thats about £500 max. Even 2 screens would only be £750 max. I guess if your looking at more specialist needs then spend more, but personally i'd put more into the pc.
