I'm sure even badly applied thermal paste wouldn't result in temps that high, a friend of mine completely forgot to put any on at all and his temps were pretty close yours with an aftermarket cooler.
So, i got myself a nice new heatsink and got some MX-2 thermal paste, here's the results:
As a result of this, my computers performance has trippled, and ontop of that, I also found out that the power supply I bought was different to the one I recieved, its of the same make, but 100w more powerful, seems I got more then what I paid for.
Thanks for the help everyone, but I would like some advice on getting filters or some effective way of dust prevention at least.
The filters I need are for a Coolermaster HAF case, as stated in my first post, so they'd have to be around 230mm to fit the main fans.
and the cooler I got was a Zalman CNPS 10x Performa, got it on discount cause my brother works at a store that sells these types of components, got some Arctic cooling MX-2 paste as well.
You'll have the same trouble I'm having looking for filters then... I had to resort to tie-wrapping black stocking feet over my fans... in all fairness, it works brilliantly! My case is dust free, and the light from the fans still shows nicely
