What's the name of the component at the back where the plug goes in? Need a new one.

Well if that's the thing that gets connected to the plug by a black lead then yes, it looks fried. Where's the best place to buy a new one or is it cheaper to buy a new computer?

The one I have is marked as 180W. I'm running a Pentium Four. I can't find any more 180W on the overclockers store, is it safe to run a higher wattage or will that fry the components?

It's safe to run higher. But, make sure its of a decent brand. Hiper 425W HPU-4S425 Silent ATX2.01 Power Supply

Ps, your system will only use what power is required, if its 180watts and you have a 500 watt power supply, 180watts is what the system will use, better safe than sorry

Look where most of his posts are made...GD and Motors. So it is quite possible he doesn't know what a PSU is. I know my dad doesn't.

Also known not to blow up! Hiper would be just fine. Mines still going after 31 months.
