right, my front speaker is sounding very dodgy so it needs replacing.

Been wanting to replace the fronts for a while so heres my chance :)

been doing some searching and im not too sure what to go for, Component or Coaxial.

My HU is:

all 4 speakers in the car are stock, car is an Avensis.

Ive sourced a JBL BassPro II sub which should arrive soon. Nothing mind blowing, but will hopefully do the job of providing some bass:

boot space is a factor so had to get a small one, plus got it quite cheap ;)

I want to leave the back speakers as they are as ive read theres no point changing them. (or should i change them too?)

so its all down to the fronts now! i think the size of the speakers are 13cm (5.25")

any advice on what i should get? i listen to all kinds of music.

budget is max £40 ish

recommend a way please!

With a P77Mp you want components. Very good headunit. For £50 you can't go wrong with some Infinity referecne series components that will complement the sub too.

Leave the rears stock and fade the headunit forward a bit. With the P77MP I turned the standard bass setting down and left it to the sub settings (seperate on HU), otherwsie at higher volumes the rear speakers will sound shocking and may cause odd vibrations and noises with too much bass.

i would say they are fine, end of day your not going into competition.

I have fitted FLI 16cm Coax into the front of my mondy, yet to fit the rears.

These are connected to a 800watt Blaupunktt amp and also a 12" FLI sub, and i think they are fine for what i am after. All in all:

£30 for pair of speakers
£15 for sub (bargain!)
£45 for amp (bought off a mate, never used)
And another £30 when i get round to fitting the rear speakers.

Currently running direct from ipod as i am yet to set up my car PC properly.
