Ive been pondering about running component leads from my 7600GT to my HDTV (daul monitor mode). has anyone done this before to a HDTV (1366x768) , does it overscan , and what is the image quality like ?... say compaired to direct VGA input to HDTV ?
Thankyou :D

I am not keen on nvidia drivers when connecting to a hdtv no where near as good as ati, at moment cannot get hdmi to work because of resizing the desktop and component willnot do 1360x768,vga will do 1360x768.
I am running 8800gts 320mb,with ati drivers and x800xl i had 1360 x 768 in every connection vga component and hdmi,so at moment not to impressed with nvidia drivers at moment.

As far as i know you cannot get 1366 because it is not divided by 8 it will be either 1360 or 1368 but not seen 1368 myself but some people have.
edit
It is down to your hd tv and what card/drivers you use,i know my tv worked with ati at 1360 on 3 connections but with nvidia i can only get 1360 with vga and some tv's are more picky that others and it is a pity powerstrip don't work with the 8 series

The 7600GT will output 480i/p 576i/p 720p and 1080i via it's component dongle. 720p (1280x720) will be the best resolution for your tv. How much it overscans, and how good the image quality are, is dependent on your tv.

I use 720p on my Panasonic Plasma which has a native 1024x768 resolution, and it looks very good. Overscan can be controlled by NVidia Control Panel which is acttually very good once you get used to it.

Does you panel not accept VGA or DVI? These would probably better better choices for general PC use.

720p isnt the best if its a '720p' panel with a res of 1366x768 which is quite common. 1:1 to the res of the panel is always best assuming the tv can do it without overscan.

reason for using component is mainly because of my downstairs pc location, and its a lot easier to run component cables to the HDTV rather than use an extended VGA cable. A simple solution is to move the pc to the TV and connect via VGA , i just wondered how good the component would look. Only reason for connecting PC to the HDTV is purely to play HD content that the Xbox360 doesnt at present.
