Ok, I just bought a new TV which has component inputs on.
Now, my dvd player has components video out.

After some research, I saw that Component video is the best for DVD due to the way that DVD are stored on the disc.

Now, my tv has component audio in but my dvd layer doesnt have the component audio out.

Is there anyway I can use the Standard L/R Phono jacks and plug them to Component audio with an adapter(without adapter doesnmt work - i tried)
Or even hook up the digital out from the DVD player to the Component audio in?

Do i have any other options?

Thannks

There is no such thing as component audio in and component audio out so you must be mistaken somewhere.

Also, what TV and what DVD?

I think you will find the "component" audio from your DVD player is actually Digital out (coax). Which does use a phono lead but a better one than the red/white ones. I am also presuming your tv audio in is red/white phono?

you wont be able to pass sound from dvd player to tv in this way. you might need to buy a separate sound / Home cinema system.

Hope this helps

there is no such thing as component audio, what exactly does the input look like, 1 phono? 2 phonos? 3.5mm jack? small square connector?

The component video cables only carry the video.

Connect a pair of stereo, phono to phono between the DVD and TV.

Make sure that the red and white phonos on the TV are inputs, some sets have them as outputs on the rear. Some sets both. Some Philips sets have a 3.5mm jack instead of phono as input.

As you have said it doesn't work, that leads me to suspect they are outputs of the TV audio.

If you check the TV manual it will say what source to use to feed audio into the TV to be used with component, some sets you have to do it via one of the scart sockets.
