Components any good?

the b2 revisions had problems with the SATA 3GB/s ports and had to be recalled and replaced with b3 revisions.

H67/61 doesn't allow overclocking but has integrated graphics and supports Quick Sync for accelerated video encoding iirc - Z68 is a combination of both + SSD caching.

combination of the p67 and the h67? so you can overclokc and do all the things you can on the h67?

yep, well....most. some of the z68 boards don't have integrated graphics such as most of the gigabyte boards and some Asus ones and so they won't have lucid virtu or quick sync but they still have overclocking and ssd caching.

Ah cheers for that, i was thinking is it beneficial to use a ssd for my os and primary applications (primary applications>) and if so, what size am i looking at for that?

Yea, if you can afford at least a 60GB SSD (~£95) then you are better off installing the OS and apps onto that as the primary instead of messing around with SSD caching.

If I was buying today I would ideally be going for at least a 120GB drive so you can fit all your apps on it and a few games, this drive is very quick and a great price at the moment.

just would like a quick spec check, ive faffed about with it so much it is unreal, every day sinnce i opened this thread its changed A LOT. It has dipped between AMD and intel and lots of different things.
Currently I am happy with what I have, is there a big difference between the i7 2600k and the i5 2500k? would it be worth the little extra for it?
