Do you think its safe to pack some pc components (HDD, CPU, GFX, RAM) in my suitcase? I live in the UK but work in Australia and I want to buy them here and take them with me as its much cheaper. They will be in the original packaging and wrapped in all my clothes.
Safe or not?

Most components undertake some form of international travel before they get to the UK stores... so I would imagine that as long as they're "secure" in your eyes, then they should be fine

You'll be more paranoid about packing them than the manufacturer will be too lol

Honestly I think they would be fine (I would do it). Just make sure you cushion them enough and that's all you can do really :)

in their original packaging they'll all be FINE, with the possible exception of Hard Drives which you might want to buy when you get there.

Done it numerous times, no problem at all. If you take it out of the box, just make sure your use the original anti static wrapper on it.

Bring a hand carry backpack with size enough to fit the seat overhead compartment and try to fit all your parts in there.I have done this several times although customs might check it and ask you to pay for importation tax or something just tell them its a gift but dont know about customs duty in there so ask around 1st if you have to pay taxes at customs.

Cant take them as hand luggage, already got an SLR + 3 lenses and my laptop to take onboard. Cheers for the advice :)
