compression fittings

No such tubing as 7/16mm. Is it 7/16"? If so, that should be 11/16mm tubing.

Get your calipers out and measure the fittings and hose - looks like the hose wall is too thick for the fittings, possibly 10/16mm tubing on 11/16mm fittings.

Yeah 7/16", sorry.
Unfortunately I don't have such tools and just go by specs.
It is pretty stupid isn't it to advertise fittings to fit 7/16" and not be compatible....

Can you find your recpt for the hose and fittings so you can double check the size of both?

Hose were replacements from ocuk for sending me a dirty/scratched set of tubing.
Fittings were bought off another forum brand new, didnt get receipt though but have emailed seller.

just checked tubing invoice and it is indeed 16/11.
After looking online, some people state that the ring doesnt actually need to go all the way down?

I was just about to say I dont expect the caps to screw all the way down when tubing is in there. If you cant pull the tube out then its sealing pretty much.

While they don't have to screw all the way down, I would personally like to see them on a bit further than in those pictures. It looks like it's barely over the top thread.

Does the compression cap come off easily? I'd try using a cloth or something for a better grip.

My thumb and index finger are pretty much raw
Even ended up splitting the under skin from my fingenail...

Have read that compression fittings are hard to screw in but not this hard!

I had lots of grief getting the same fittings to fit, they are a very tight fit. They are difficult to start on the thread and tight to screw down. Try using a thin lubricant on the outside of the tubing to ease the fit.

Well a bit of haird dryer helped a little.
I got the rings to go a little bit clsoer to the base.
Don't think I'll be getting them any closer to what they are now.
Well see how leak testing goes.

When buying compression fittings remember that outer diameter is just as important as inner diameter.

And those compression fittings should be a lot tighter. I had no problem hand tightening my EK compressions so they were completely shut.
