Hi

I got my new compressor today and it states it needs an SAE30 oil.

The problem is whilst I've got compressor Oil (Draper 34683) which states

"Blended amber coloured oil using a high VI premium grade base oil and selective additives to provide
Suitable for single and multi-stage compressors up to temperatures of 200C"

And on the bottle that it's "suitable for all compressors"

I can't find it's SAE rating anywhere at all, it's not on the bottle, not on the draper site or anything.

I'm guessing it should be fine given it states it's suitable for all compressors, but having had one compressor die on me this week I don't want to risk killing the new one by using the wrong oil.

If I could find anywhere near me that had an SAE 30 rated one (Bostich is, but I need the oil tomorrow and can't find a local retailer) I would get it to be extra safe.

Rather annoyingly Screwfix sell the compressor (which doesn't come with the oil*), they don't do the oil, and Halfords doesn't seem to do a compressor oil in store at all.

*Grrrr, everything else that needs oil seems to come with at least a starter bottle (chainsaw, petrol strimmer etc)/

It's an IMPAX IM412-24L 24Ltr Compressor 230V which states it takes SAE30 oil.
The oil I've got is Draper compressor oil which doesn't state the SAE anywhere on it (or on the website).

I think there is a machine mart about 10-15 miles from me, I hadn't thought of them as I've never been there :)

I don't think there are, however I did find an unoppened bottle of SAE30 compressor oil that has been stored in a dark corner of the garage for about 6 years (it's still completely wrapped in the clingfilm stuff the company used to help prevent leaks if it got damaged in transit).
