Firstly, the volume doesn't work. The volume bar moves up and down the screen as it would normally, but it doesn't actually adjust the sound comming out my speakers. What gives? I have the latest drivers and software.

Secondly, using the same cable I used with my old nebula card, it doesn't seem to show the same channels I had before, ITV and channel 4 is missing for a start.

Can anyone help?

Options to try in Compro DTV4 is making sure your tv region is set in the digital options. also there are 3 scanning speeds. try all 3 see which works best .

I am currently using the latest version of DTV3 (3.0.5.3) as thats the software which was available on the "support" part on compro's website under E700. The "Vista" E700 shows up with the DTV4 - will that work on the non "vista" E700? I have tried the fast and normal speed, I will try the "slow" speed when adverts come on (watching phone booth).

Still no luck with "slow" speed. I have changed the region to UK (and my area to suffolk), I have also tried a few other areas around me too and still cant get channel 4 or ITV.

I have already sent compro a email regarding the volume, but awaiting a reply. Gonna call it a night, cant be bothered to faff with it anymore. :-(

Thanks madmatty. Using the "Vista" E700 DTV4 link as its got Vista 64 support. I have checked windowsupdate but there is no driver update yet. Will post back results once I have faffed with the new software.

Still the same :( No channel 4, ITV, ITV2, E4 - all the best ones basically! Not happy :(

Strangely enough though, when I change the region to UK/suffolk it only takes about 5 seconds or so to actually scan the channels. My nebula would be scanning for literally about 5mins! Am I doing something wrong? I change the "digital TV settings" to UK/suffolk (tried both options) then hit autoscan - is this correct?

If thats the transmitter your arial is facing then yes. not sure what else to surgest. do you have windows media centre or nero home at all ? it will take 10 mins to scan, but maybe they can see the channels. If the signal strength is good for the channels you do find, then im not sure what the problem could be.

Dag namit, I have vista buisness and that does't come with WMC. I dont have nero home either so I can not try that.

I have sent an email to compro to see what they suggest. Its odd because my Nebula gets perfect picture quality on those channels aswell as the big telly with its built in freeview downstaires (they all connect to the same aerial too).

I hope I dont have to RMA the thing and exchange it for something else, I really like the tiny little receiver for the remote. The software is a bit annoying but its nice when having a few other channels open in tiny little windows and such :)

One thing I did notice on the actual card itself was, all the capacitors were all at a funny angle, but the box had its shrink wrap still intact on it, and my remote has a tiny little scratch at the bottom (didnt bother me though).

If you know the frequency the channels use (maybe shown in the nebulus software) might be possible to set the channels up manualy to see if it can see the channels at all .

Another option is TVPlugin for winamp. its not great and not entirly compatable, but it can search and create files for every file found containing all the frequency detials and other useful info.

I am getting an aerial splitter later on today as well as some more cables so I can plug the nebula and the compro in at the same time (its a real hassle to keep switching cables).

Thanks for your help and I will post back later after I try what you suggest :D

Just checked the volume issue and it still persists, cant get the volume bar to actually affect my PC's speakers :(

The sound issue is an odd one. On very rare occasions it doesnt seem to work, but its not an issue I face often. Cant think of anything that might effect it as the audio goes through a decoder as apposed to a analogue line in. Have a fiddle with the recording / playback mixer settings in compro and see if anything changes. Probably something compro support can help with, they do reply to their emails which is suprising and most welcome at the same time ;)

Also, in regard to arial splitter. try to get a switchable one as unless the signal is 100% to the one reciever, you may get issues ( er.. more issues ;) ).
