Am thinking about taking this exam soon. Not had any training but I know most of it. Anyone done this and fancies sharing how hard it is, on the general scale of things?

It's easy. I did the 2003 one so don't know about the new ones. It's all multiple choice and if you know how to put a computer together and install windows then you should find it easy.

Just know basic procedure for installing windows, hardware requirements of said operating systems, basics of the windows file structure, troubleshooting, and a bit of DOS. Should see you through it without too much effort :p

Its probably the easiest "exam" i've sat bar the Driving Theory Test.

Been reading through the objectives and it really does seem all like common sense for your average computer enthusiast. I think I will take the 602 exam for the optional one.

Am probably also going to try and get the Network+ under my belt too. Any of you done that one? ;)

Ive done the A+. As said, its pretty easy, although its worth reading up on dos, windows 95 etc again incase you've forgotten any of that old stuff (I know I had) Having said that, I think the sylabus has changed recently so it might not include much of that anymore. Oh, and expect lots of badly worded, mis-spelt and ambiguous questions, especially ones about different types of fire extinguisher and incident report forms (Yes, im not kidding) And I got 1 question 3 times over.(Glad I knew it though).

Heh, that sounds a tad annoying. Apparantly the exam and syllabus has changed since Q306 and so I doubt there will be too much old-school Win95 stuff.

Easy, I passed it last year. Did about 2 hours revision.

You can get some software and do some practice questions, they will appear in the exam...
