Still waiting on CompTIA to sort out their databases, so i thought i would see who here is waiting on a certificate from them as well.

Passed CompTIA A+ in early/mid August time and still haven't received the certificate. The site has been down ever since i passed so i haven't been able to log in once.

However, they say that the certificate will arrive within 4-6 weeks of passing the exams. 6 weeks has gone, and i can't chase it up as they cannot access their database to give me any more information.

Now i am in the middle of studying for Network+ but am unsure whether i should just give up and go with a different companies qualifications. (bearing in mind i have no work experience, am 19, so CompTIA was a pretty good fit for me)

So, anybody here waiting on CompTIA too?
And as people have been saying on other forums, What a way to practice what you preach with backing up. :D

Anyywayyy, /daily rant ;)

I did a course a while ago and it took longer than 6 weeks for the cert to arrive so I wouldn't worry too much.

It took about 2 months for my CompTIA Network+ to come.
Wish I spent my money on Cisco now..

But did you all sign in to request the certificate?

I cannot do that, but hopefully they managed to get my information from Vue.

Meh, I'm not in a rush at the moment, but i do hope that i have it by the time i take the Network + exam.

Where did you do the certificate?

Edit: Sure I'd stuck this in - give them a ring or something? Or was it all done online?

I used a pearson vue testing centre. 1st one was in Milton Keynes, then for the 2nd exam i used one in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire.

Have the stamped pass notification still as proof just in case.

I am reluctant to ring as it seems that CompTIA's head office is based in America. And also, from what i have read by others that have rung/emailed, they say that they cannot give them any information about whether they have sent off their specific certificate as the can't access the database to see :p

Will wait another week or two, then i will try phoning.

Mine came from chicago il USA(thought they all did) thats why it took so long.

From Chicago to Florida or Chicago to Solihull? ;)

Edit: I was thinking of doing the Security+ next but am really thinking twice now. Can anyone recommend a decent next certification if i manage to pass Network+ (bearing in mind i have no experience as i can't seem to get an IT job :)) ?

I did the Security+ and actually found it pretty interesting :) The guy we had doing the course was very good though, only went on it as a freebie from work but glad I did.

I was thinking of doing a course, but as i am self funding the qualifications and the courses seemed to be in excess of £700, i am using the Mike Meyers All-In-One books.

They are quite an easy read TBH, and very interesting.
