Depends heavily on the environment. If you're in a heavily built up area with lots of competing wireless networks or if you live in a failry large old stone built house (like I do) they can be a bit flakey. I've tried several times using wireless for desktops and gaming, but usually end up up running a bit of cable. Just so much more stable and reliable.
