Hey guys

Hope this is the right place to post this q.

Just done a new build and running seti@home through boinc and i've been getting some computation errors on the cuda units.

So far stats are 32 errors and 172 validated units cuda wise.

Is this normal or not and does it mean i should check out my gfx card abit more and maybe need to RMA it?? (specs in sig)

Thanks guys

Edit: maybe sig not working so specs below:

i7 2600k
Asus P8P67 PRO
8GB Corsair XMS3 1600
Palit 570 GTX
Seasonic 600W

It is possible that there 'might' be a fault with your card, but you can have batches of bad wu's that error out usually low or high angle wu's
Check online to see what the error message was for some of the wu's that have errors.

Are you running the latest lunatics apps? They are a lot better at handling the extreme angle ranges..

Hi

Thanks for the reply.

Im totally new to this so no idea what i'm doing atm tbh. So far all i've done is install boinc and join the seti project and ocuk group. tbh i really need to read the FAQ posted on here.

Not sure if you can view my results but this is a link

http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?userid=9406028

All i can see is computation error i cant see anything with more detail.

Thanks again

ps. this happens at stock speeds / not overclocked.

OK, the stock app isn't bad, but you really want to download the lunatics app

http://lunatics.kwsn.net/index.php?module=Downloads;catd=9

go through the installer and you want sse4.1 for your cpu and then enable multibeam cuda as well..

The link didn't open for me...

Oh, and welcome to the team, its good to have you onboard :p

The lunatic app is optimised and you will see a boost in performance using it over the stock app..

I am getting almost 100k ppd over various cards ,ive just checked and dont have a single invalid WU.
I would say you have a problem but then i am running the Lunatics app.

I've got the lunatics app installed but the server is offline atm and i need new units before i can test it out and see if thats solved the problem

Thanks for the help guys and i will post again when ive done more units

Hey guys

I've now run more units and so far no errors so it seems the lunatics install worked.

Just posting this update incase it helps anyone else and to say thanks for the help.
