Thank god OC doesn't use Altrak, or whatever they're called, nightmares with them guys.

Anyway, unpacked, installed vista 64 (must admit I was a bit disappointed it didn't come with a spare power lead but found one about) and everything is up and going. Most recent pc game I have is farcry, bought it the other day. Obviously it's ancient but installed it and runs like butter.

Its def a bit quieter than my previous pc. The noise isn't as noticable though if you know what I mean.

I was just wondering for anyone else who has the titan accelrator, what is the safest maximum speed I could overclock it to?

Also around april time at my bday, Im either going to get the 4870X2, or another 4850 to run in paralled and another 4 gig of ram, any suggestions as to which would be better? Will pick up another HDD before then though.

can't get the surround sound working (using a z-5500 with three normal 3.5mm jacks) but its prob just me being a moron.

Oh yea! Another quick question. The bios says "CPU FAN ERROR" on boot, but I've had it on a solid six hours by now and everything is fine so what is that about? Also, Where in the bios can I tell what the cpu temp is?

Obviously I need to get to more gaming and stuff but I'd say this is at the very least a 9/10 machine, espicially for the price!!!

Im either going to get the 4870X2, or another 4850

The former, though the latter option would be cheaper and still yield excellent performance. You would have to upgrade the PSU for the 4870x2 also.

Is this using the SupremeFX 2 on board sound? If so, no, it won`t work with Vista 64 (at least it didn`t and I don`t know if this got sorted). Cheapest option here is to buy an Audigy and use modded drivers and software. I can help with the location of drivers

If it`s a 3 pin plug coming from the CPU fan, the mainboard has a 4 pin header. Move the plug over one notch, should be OK.

I've not actually opened it up. Getting it in and oout of my entertainment unit and hookin stuff up is a nightmare. Ok so I could overclock it to that much really? What about with the current CPU cooler? And how bout some instructions on doing it

i can pick up another sound card some time then no big deal. I'll go with another 4850 then im sure they two of them together would pack a decent punch.

Lister, to be honest, I would just use it as it is. It`s already at 3 Ghz and I seriously doubt whether overclocking would give you anything that you would notice, except some extra points on some benchmarking util

Quick question. Farcry and windows etc runs fine, but any video file has screen tearing and im sure its because of the settings on the ati control panel. I've tried farting about with different settings, turning vertical refresh on etc but no joy. Anyone got any recommendations?
