computer asking, home or pro??

hi

just installed windows xp pro on a pc, now before it boots its asks me if i want xp home or xp pro?? how to i make it stop doing this??

It doesn't ask you. You have installed Pro so it will be Pro

i think he means *** boot loader did you have xp home onthat computer before

yeh had home before, formatted and everything

go to c:\boot.ini with notepad and remove the line corresponding to the OS you don't want from the section [operating systems].

Boot.ini is simply a config file for the NT boot loader - when you look at it, that section is fairly self explanatory.

[EDIT]: Or you could use Start --> Run --> msconfig and go to the boot.ini section as well.
