Hello all.

Well a friend of mine has asked me to spec him out an average machine (preferably one he could play games on, obviously nothing new, something along the lines of CS:S etc) for the budget of around £500 (slight under or over on the budget is acceptable). So I thought I'd post it up here and see if anyone could come up with a decent spec for around that price. He would like a monitor included if possible (17" tft would suffice).

I haven't began to look at system specs for him yet, hence why I thought of you lovely people .

If anyone could bang together a fairly average but efficient spec for around £500 that'd be great.

Best regards,

Breaks.

Great systems guys. I know he was looking more at the 3700+ due to his price range but I was eagerly trying to edge him towards the E4300 (as I noticed someone else spec'd that CPU). Which would you prefer? The E2140 or the E4300?

4300 for cache. Intel likes big cache! However I beleive they get similar benchmarks.
