Computer Build Problem

Hi I dunno if anyone can help me but I got a problem I've built a new pc intel i3 3.10Ghz. My graphics card is 8800GTS PCI-E graphics card when ever I put the graphics card in the PCI-E x16 3.0 slot I keep getting blue screening on windows 8 the graphics card will only work in the PCI-E x4 slot does anyone know what to do? Please help

i have all the latest drivers i downloaded the latest drivers from the gigabyte website and from the nvidia website and all upto date i just cant seem to run the 8800GTS graphics in the PCI-E x16 3.0 and the onboard graphics card is off i dunno watta do im thinking of buying a new graphics card with 3.0 support what do you think?

Thankyou its wierd because it posts and you can go to the bios as normal but soon as u load upto windows that then it goes wierd do u think its better buying a new GPU that supports 3.0?
