Okay, so - my computer has been absolutely fine until tody, i accidently knocked the power off while the windows logo was on and the computer was starting up, yet now it wont boot at all.

Sometimes it restarts just after it POSTs, sometimes it boots into windows, loads up everything on the desktop then dies a few seconds later (never lasted more than 30seconds), it even restarts when trying to run the windows vista repair tool.

I have two OS that i dual boot, Win7 on a 1TB drive, and windows vista on a pair of RAID0 Raptors, Vista is the main install so the RAID array has to be plugged in for the Win7 install to work, however at the moment neither version of windows will load due to constant reboots.

System temperatures are fine, no messages when windows loads as to the raid array failing (had that happen in the past)

So.. any suggestions to help keep my sanity guys?

i7 920 @ 4ghz
4870x2
raid0 150gb raptors
6gb ram
gigabyte UD5 motherboard

I turned off auto restart and it doesnt bsod, it just reboots.

The CPU is clocked as mentioned above, but then it always has been and has always been fine.

Last upgrade was months ago, and that was mobo, cpu and graphics card.

This only started happening after the power went off mid system boot, is there anything that could have broken?

Error message in bios telling me booting had failed due to CPU clock speeds, odd for it to have happened all of a sudden, insted of resetting CMOS i just lowered the multiplier to 16 instead of 20, now its at 3.05.

Its just booted successfully, so... the CPU is no longer as healthy as it once was?

Temps at 3.8ghz never went above 35 on air

edit - in windows now, and its working perfectly.. so... do i leave the multiplier lower or lower the clock speed?

Thank you very much for your fast replies mate, much appreciate the help, i was tearing whats left of my hair out!
