computer crash while virus scanning.

just today my pc has started crashing when doing a virus scan.

i5 2500k @4.7
asus MVG z77
patriot viper 3 2133mhz 8gb
sapphire 7970
seasonic 860w
seagate barracuda 1tb 7200rpm
corsair force 3 60gb ssd

the computer is completely stable otherwise, will pass 60 runs of ibt at very high
gpu is stable through heaven for over 2hrs

i use avast anti virus and ive never had a problem with it before but now when i run a virus scan it will start scanning the hdd, it will be fine for a bit then crash.

can anyone tell me how to bring the crash log up?

its been happening since the start of feb and the only new thing installed since then was the new ram and malware bytes.

just uninstalling the malware bytes and am gonna re run the scan

restarting happening to mine. i run heaven on high and the computer restarts

umm thats great and all but doesnt help me lol.

well im running avast scan now after getting rid of malware bytes and so far all is well

maybe there is a conflict between avast and malware bytes?

try spybot search and destroy instead of malware bytes

i think ive managed to fix it now

seems that malware bytes was causing an issue with avast. ive got rid of malware bytes now and all is well.
