Hi guys,
I have recently returned from a months holiday, where my computer has been off and all power has been off as well. On return I did have my computer on for about a day and a half before I started to experience random crashes (Kernel-power 41 error which doesn't identify a thing).
Some of these crashes go into restarts where some just leave the system hanging (monitor has no signal), with my fans, etc. all operating and I have to turn the system off via the PSU (power and reset buttons on Mobo non effective).
Some restarts/hangs are in the BIOs (with hardware connected and without), during startup, in Windows or after hours of having the computer on. I played an evening of Arma last night without a problem until I booted up again this morning.
I have tried switching memory out, with restarts still. I have disconnected my drives and experienced a crash in the BIOS. I have tested an old 4890 and experienced a crash and have reseated my GPU in other PCI slots.
I have also reseated hardware, cleaned the system of dust (which wasn't a lot), and cleared the CMOS and removed all overclocks.
All signs to me point towards the PSU failing or the Mobo regulating power? I don't think it is my CMOS battery.
Specs are:
CPU - Phenom X4 955 BE
Mobo - MSI 790FX-GD70
RAM - Corsair Doms 4GB (2 x 2GB)
GPU - 5850
PSU - OCZ 'Mod Xtreme' 700W
All info will be appreciated
