Computer Crashing and Windows Restore issues.

Hey guys, My PC randomly crashes from time to time (usually 3 - 4 times a day) and everytime it does, my computer requires a Windows restore (and I say requires because if I try to start windows normally i crashes)

I do have a Crashdump file report.

However I';m unsure on how to upload it, so if someone could point me in the right direction, much appreciated.

just some extra information:

I noticed it crashes on standby every time. (After I leave my PC Idle for awhile)
It sometimes even crashes during the restore....

Asus mobo? Update your BIOS. I was having regular BSODs with a disappearing SSD; I updated BIOS and they seem to have gone away.

when you say "crash" what happens exactly (BSOD/ lockup)

I have seen out of the 15+ crashes I have experienced, one BSOD, the rest were Lock ups, the PC screen froze and so did the sound. Can anyone tell me how to upload a crash dump file?

Also how do I update the bios?

EDIT: Just checked the Asus page, there hasn't been a Bios update for my mobo for 3 years....

Driver issues or update issues?

At what point did the crashes start? After an Update or installation of some software?

Everything is fully 100% updated, They started around the 27th of june and I just haven't got round to fixing it yet. Something tells me it's a hardware problem ,hence why I want to try and upload this crash dump file.

You say hardware, did you install something new?

You also state 100% updated but i was wondering if an 'Update' is the cause of this issue!

Did I install something new? No...However I have a feeling maybe some hardware is playing up.

Update cause of the issue? Surely Windows Restore would sort that? Also my BIOS has been the same since 2011 lol.

Couple of things you could try

Control panel/Hardware and Sound/Power Options/Change Plan Settings/Change Advanced Power Settings/Hard disk/Turn off Hard Disk After. Change to Never.

Also change Put the Computer to Sleep to Never.

I'd use something like WhoCrashed to analyse the dump files to get more info. I'd also run a chkdsk /r and an sfc /scannow. It might be worth trying to run on one ram stick and see how you get on. I would also try resetting your mobo to defaults by removing the cmos battery for 30 seconds. I'd try all that for starters. If you've got a spare PSU you could use/borrow that would also help with your diags.
