Hello,

I am after a computer desk, big as possible preferably L shaped, white or grey. I've had a look on Ikea but quite expensive. Where have you got your desks from? Preferably under 70£ but can possibly go up to a 100 if it's really high quality, sturdy etc

I think possibly your expectations for the costs of a good quality large desk are out of proportion.

If you really want something large, nice and sturdy and in that shape you might want to up your budget.

Exactly as above. I can't remember how much i paid for my Ikea "L" shaped desk, but it supports 3 monitors, a microserver and other hoards of junk, and has been perfectly stable when i've had to climb on it.

I'd be wary of finding a large desk at that price, as i suspect it's not going to be of very good quality, or sturdy.

So what would you recommend? I'll never have the need to stand on a desk, that's what ladders are for... Health and safety and all.. lol.

One larger screen, possibly two plus a tower. How study does it need to be? Would a normal rectangular shape be better?

There's a nice L shaped desk on the site Abyss linked for £100, and you even get some built in drawers. That should be fine for some monitors and a tower.

Wife will only allow me to get black/white or grey as it had to match our bedroom colours. :(

Did see some nice ones on Craigs website. About 112£ with VAT.

I made mine. Wasn't that hard. Making an L-shaped one wouldn't be that trickier, just require a bit more work and if you're using something like laminate for white/black and IKEA legs it'll work out cheaper than mine did (which wasn't too much more than the top end of your budget).
