If you can build your own as suggested would be strong.
Problem with IKEA is that they have flimsy stuff sometimes, thats why its cheap!
Look at Argos, PC World, Curry's, Tesco Direct, etc.
Depends what your budget is and what size. Should be tons of shops of internet. Viking Direct (http://www.viking-direct.co.uk/a/sb/No=0&N=2+1288922&Ns=p_PRICE|0&recordsPerPageNumber=60/) is an office supplier, maybe try them? - expensive, but definately sturdy stuff.

Argos do a very good solid desk. Its part of the Marino Range and is completly modular. You order the corner desk and then choose from a selection of draws and cupboards for each corner. I have had mine for about 5 years now and its still as solid as the day I got it.
I have an ikea one.
Silver painted metal frame with frosted glass tops.
No keyboard trays, shelves or cupboards just a corner desk.
handy also that the corner section can be removed if you want and it becomes 2 straight desks which is how it is right now, I have one the wife has the other.

OK the wife just corrected me and it appears my desk did not come from IKEA it came from Leen Bakker which is no good to you as it is a Dutch store.
However it looks exactly the same as this one without the shelf or tray
And that one and plenty more like it are available on Gumtree

How big of a corner desk do you want? The ikea galant is a mammoth corner desk, and very sturdy.

The Vika range has a corner desk now, less than £60 for the top + 5 legs, I've had a few Vika desks in the past, all sturdy and simple to build.
Just google office furniture "location", first hit for Leeds was http://www.reworkofficefurniture.co.uk/used-furniture/desks/ and has some very sturdy desks for a quite cheap price, pretty sure most major towns/cities will have something simillar.

Look at second hand warehouse places, they deal with office clearances so you get really good quality stuff for a decent price.

There are loads of these around the country though, try looking around and going down to the places to drive a hard bargain, they often want rid of their stock so will be willing to cut the price for you.
