Hi Guys,

I have been looking for a new computer desk for ages and it is really annoying these days as no desk is built to accomidate a full tower anymore.

I have a big ass Cooler Master HUF 922 case. I don't want it sitting on the floor. I would rather not have to build a desk for it and wondered what others with equally big or bigger cases use?

Depends on the space you have. I bought mine from Oakland Furniture, was clearance, bargain price and very well built!!

Ikea :)

Plenty of people from these forums have got some pretty good setups from ikea (curved and normal).

Think people mostly use the Malm and the Galant :)

I only use proper office furniture. Home furniture stores don't make desks that can withstand my use for more than a year.

I bought this desk from Ikea a few years ago. Was only about £30 from memory as well and it's solid.

My case is massive, so it just goes on the floor under the desk.

(Disclaimer: This was just after setting it up, it's been cable tidied since then, please don't kill me :p )

I thought the 922 was a mid-tower case?

I use an 1600mm x 800mm cantilever office desk which has 725mm height and fits a Corsair Obsidian 750D under it no problem :) I put my PC on the floor though, but there is room to have it on the desk if I wished. Its a fairly big desk to be honest, but to put the PC on the desk I would go a bit bigger, like an 1800x800 size.

Most decent desk suppliers offer modular PC brackets that let the base unit 'float' below the desk. That could be an option.

Alternitavely just use a smart piece of wood/metal that suits your decor and place that on the floor, then place your PC on top :)

EDIT - I would recommend using an office goods supplier rather than your average Argos type jobbie. My desk is solid, and has been used heavily for the last 5 years, and no sign of wobble. The finishing is showing some wear where the keyboard sits though, but to be fair that is only because I don't make an effort to protect it with an XL game mat or anything.

Never mind the cables....... you put your PC next to a radiator? What are you thinking man?!?! Move it away now!!! lol :p

a huge ikea gallant but the size f the desk means any noise such as key tapping is amplified massively to the extend I have a teatowel under my keyboard...

I don't think I could ever attach my wheel to it because the forcefeedback vibrations would likely be the same as someone banging on a door.
which is about how big this desk is door size so it carries noise a little to well....

Would one of those giant mouse pads OCUK sell not do a better job? Could also act as sound deadening between your wheel and the desk too.
