I've had this problem and have to resort the resetting/flashing the BIOS every time. Not sure if your system came OCd by default or not or if it was even overclocked at all...but I would perhaps try resetting the BIOS.

Doing this is simple: take the CMOS battery out of the motherboard and press the contacts of the battery socket together to short circuit it. Keep doing this and then leave for 5 mins (forgot to say: disconnect power!).

Otherwise just disconnect the system from the power, take out the CMOS battery and leave for around 24 or 48 hours - the latter probably being the best.

Not 100% on this though. And once you've reset the BIOS we can talk you through getting it back to the original settings.

EDIT: Some motherboards actually have a clear CMOS switch...either on the mobo or at the back plate. Try looking for one should save some time ; )

i3 to 4.40ghz
Giga mobo

I have my new OCZ PSU + 1TB waiting on case to come then ill fit it in

is it best to not run it @ 4.4ghz profile untill i fit my new psu in?

im on it now it's working just left it for a few mins

no i think he is saying he wouldnt use it fullstop without a decent psu.

Either way that would be my stance on this.
