Hi all,

Sometimes my computer doesn't boot up. The fans, lights and hard drives boot up but no POST, beep or anything on the screen.

However, after a few tries at resetting it, or powering it down and starting it again it will boot up just fine. It'll be perfectly stable after this, as well.

I have four sticks of RAM, and I have tried taking some out. I have also tried disconnecting fans to free up some power.

Here is my spec:

Q6600
Asus P5KC motherboard
4GB Crucial RAM
Corsair 520W power supply
ATi Radeon 2600 Pro graphics card

Any ideas what is (or is not) happening?

Here are my voltages (all default):

It's the mobo, head over to asus forums for p5kc and you'll see that many ppl have that problem.
Try to plug hdd into another sata conector on mobo, move ram to other pair of banks (if 2x2gb) if you got 4x1gb you might need to increase your northbridge (i think) voltage.

My p5kc powers on then powers off for ~2sec and then it starts up ok, only happens after being turned off for longer time. Read bout some other p35 mobos doing this as well.

Ok, I am sick of this. I spend half an hour of rebooting, taking out RAM modules / putting them in again just so I can get it started up. Sometimes, if I am lucky it will go past the POST without locking up.

Forget adjusting the voltages, as it forgets everything when it fails to boot.

I'm just going to replace the whole lot. Screw ASUS.
