Last night for some odd reason I suddenly got a BSOD, first in a very long time!

I rebooted, started windows normally, then fell asleep.

I woke up to find the screen blank, with the PC on.

I rebooted again, this time faced with some beeps. 1 long, 2 short.

couldnt find anything on the manufacturers website about beep codes, but some googling about provided some clues.

The evidence is pointing to a gfx card failure. I have re-seated the card twice, still getting beeps. Had a thorough look, no signs or burning/melting etc. the GPU looked ok (well, couldnt see under the gunk to see the core)

The motherboard is an ECS NFORCE6M-A (V2.0/V2.0A).

Any ideas folks? I dont want to end up buying a new gfx card to find out its something else/more then one problem.

Not trying to advertise for any other co. - in this case a mag - but this weeks Micro Mart mag has in the ?'s section a list of the (1)Standard IBM Post codes/ (2)AMI Bios Post codes/(3)Phoenix Bios post codes.

And 1 long,2 short beeps is stated for IBM as a 'Display Adapter Issue' - nothing listed for other 2 for this sequence.

Hope the info is of use
