Hello all,

Having this odd problem occasionally where if I leave my system turned off for a long time, say a few days, it doesn't turn on when I press the case power button. I also tried the power button on the motherboard itself and still no luck. The strange thing is that the motherboard LEDs are all still lit when this happens.

The only way to turn it on, is to turn off power to the PSU (e.g. use the power switch on the psu), wait for about 20 seconds and then turn power on again. It will then continue working and turn on normally, so long as I use the PC regularly. Also, while the system is working, I have no other issues (not that I am aware of anyway).

Anyone have any ideas?

My system specs:

6700k
Asus Maximus Hero VIII
16GB DDR4 3200
1080Ti
Essence STX II
2HDD, SATA SSD and M.2 SSD
Corsair AX760 PSU

I had a similar problem (pretty much same symptoms) happen to me recently after moving everything over into a new case.

Turned out that the CPU backplate for my ID Cooling Auraflow AIO cooler was causing an intermittent short, slight adjustment solved the problem.

Might be worth having a close look!
