computer failing to boot after bios upgrade

tried to upgrade my bios on a as rock z68 extreme 4 gen 3

now it wont boot into windows 10

just goes though the motions and the little start line appears but not attempt to boot of the ssd

cmos clear did a trick and allows me to boot bios has updated but now reporting inaccessible boot drive

offers me windows boot manager or the ssd.. neither works leaves me with a little white flashing hyphen

yes been into the bios.. set all to ahci.. then realised that the ssd was on sata 3.0 and not enabled so enabled booting for sata 3.0

didn't help so moved the ssd into sata position 2..still boots to the white hyphen

just been looking at that.. was set to legacy swapped to uefi mode either was doesn't boot

guess it was a legacy install at that's what the bois was set to default and I don't think I changed it originally

i will try the repair first as you suggest but was on legacy...
but if i have to go ahead and do another install is there any best setting i should use in the bios..does it matter where the hard drives are connected. mine was on sata 3.0 my ssd.. i,m lucky i backed most of it up but will try to do a recover from the usb media

thanks for all your help.. me too will have to reinstall everything so will be a massive pain but better than losing the use of everything.. teach me to be more careful.. but first time ive lost things after a successful bios update so to speak..live and learn. cant even get into the advance repair section currently

well now its wont find the drive accessible even after a fresh install so I'm guessing the bios is corrupted and windows install wrote the new install to that drive..

not sure where I go from here.. new motherboard I,m guessing

right after two stressful days and loads of lost applications I'm nearly there. full reboot with all but one drive removed reinstalled.

but even though I reinstalled a newer bios and swapped to achi the new 6tb drive shows up but still wont come on line saying I/o error every time I try to initialise it
