Hi all, i didnt know if this was a hardware or software issue so i have put it here for now until someone can enlighten me and move it if needed.
Saturday i went to switch the computer on for the first time in a little while (maybe a week) and it kept freezing at the above start up procedure. I had just put in a friends graphics card a week or so before this and the computer worked fine. I tried switching my graphics card back and would still fail at this point.
I got the thing started by pressing F11 and chosing to boot from Hard disk. Once started i did a hard drive check using Tune Up Utilities 2011 and that came back with no errors, so i restarted to PC with my old graphics card in and it still failed at this point again.
To get it to boot up normally without pressing F11 i had to go into the BIOS (its a locked BIOS) change to the boot priority to 1 - hard drive 2 - hard drive 3 - (cant rememeber) and change to hard drive priority to my other hard drive.
(np: i have two hard drive both 250gb one with Vista on as my usual hard drive and the other has my boot files on)
Why is this happening? Should i have to change my BIOS settings to get the PC to start?
If you need any more information than the above please let me know.
Many thanks, Chris
