Computer Freezes, Screen Goes Black?

Having a problem with my PC.

What happens is during a game the computer will freeze and the screen will go black and basically says that there is no signal because it searches for one and can't find one so turns itself off.

Whilst this is happening the computer is still on and doesn't restart it's self.

Any ideas what it could be?

So the monitor stop working?

Well sorta becuase the computer freezes but I don't think the problem is the monitor.

do you still get sound when the monitor goes dead, or does the whole computer freeze up?

Whole computer freezes I'm afraid but sometimes the sound keeps repeating.

Sounds like a graphics issue. Fistly update all your drivers make sure everything is the latest. Is there another graphices card you can swap in to see if it keeps happening? You could test to see if its overheating by taking the side pannel off your case and play a game, see if it still happens
