Hi there guys,
Just got a 270x in my system and since putting it in I have been freezing and crashing when the card is under load.
The rest of my system is as follows
AMD FX-4300 CPU
4 HDD's
a CX500M PSU.

My initial thoughts are that the CX500M isn't giving my pc enough power ??
could that be correct or not?
Thanks in advance

i bought the psu less than a week ago,
rather annoyingly, thought i read somewhere that 500watts was enough...
and i dont think its heat because the pc turns off only after a few mins of operation and the temp dont every get much above 60*C

I cannot test the old GPU as I am now at uni... however before the new card was swapped in this was not happening, so i do believe that it is down to the GPU.
I will try booting the system without the GPU in there and hope for better results.
also for those that would like to know, my mobo is a gigabyte ga-78lmt-usb3.

Thanks

could the problem be that I havent set up the card correctly?
It uses 2 different 6 pin sockets and both are comming off of the same cable (rail?) on the PSU.
should I be using 2 separate "rails" to run this card or should this config be ok?

i think we may have found the problem ....
can i just buy one of corsairs modular 6 pin cables from somewhere then?

Ok, so what I have done now is run one of the 2 GPU power inputs from sata, using a strange bundle of wires that goes from sata power -> molex power -> pcie. however my hard still seems to be freezing, is this because I cant pull much power from sata? or should this now be working?

Have just tried to enable voltage control, but I am not sure if my card is supported.
I have tried it on reference, msi and exteneded and it has not enabled th voltage control option for me.
the only thing I am able to do is set the power limit (and the clock speed and memory speed)

EDIT: I have also tried enabling unofficial overclocking mode

Trixx worked, just ran the furmark burn in test with no problems at all, which the pc would have crashed whilst doing before.
could the problem be i am trying to draw too much power off the sata power connections?
i read somewhere that they cannot deliver as much as molex?

ahh right well i think i have one lieing around anyway, so i will try that ... else i guess i need an upgrade.
Doubt i will be able to return it tho, but i will give it a go.

well i dont think that it is a diver issue :(
just uninstalled my drivers using display driver uninstall utility and then reinstalled, nothing.
still crashing ...
btw im using furmark to run the stress test, and it only seems to crash when anti aliasing is on, presumable be cause the card is finding harder?
tempted to reinstall windows and format some drives ... cannot think of anything else to do, could it be the card its self is at fault?

yeah , it came factory overclocked... so i could try and remove that i guess.... i did just remove drivers with ddu yeah, might try a fresh bit of windows tho if thats one of the only options left.

Just ran heaven, managed to get though the test ok i think, might have crashed for about 1 second, but then i think a scene change might have fixed it? lasted a benchmark tho, the only think that I am worried about it happening during somthing like cs:go , and then receiving a ban :/
set the clock speed back to the stock, and it seems to be slightly more stable that it has been, tomorrow i will test it with these clock speeds in some cs:go and see if it manages to last a few matches....

still crashing occasionally, so I am doing a windows reinstall, and whilst I am at it, i have decided to (upgrade?) to windows 8.1

Just reinstalled windows, after formatting the HDD, still crashing under load. looks like its time for a replacement part.
