Hi all. When i switched my computer on this morning i noticed something strange occured during boot up.

Basically the computer performs POST and gives off one beep indicating that all hardware components are ok, but then it just hangs and doesnt boot anyfurther into windows, i cant even access the BIOS.

Anyways the motherboard im using is the ASUS P5W DH Deluxe (intel LGA 775)
Ive also got my E6600 overclocked to 2.8 GHz, the rest of my spec is on my siggy.

Im thinking its the BIOS battery that could be the cause since the one beep indicates that my hardware is ok, then again i could be wrong.

Sure hope its not a hardware problem though

Any help would be great

Thanks :)

have you tried getting you e6600 to stock settings and tried booting? as it might be your cpu volts aint high enough, or is a clock that the motherboard doesnt want to work on

No its not that ive had the E6600 overclocked for months now. It was working fine until this morning when i switched it on.

Il try resetting the BIOS to default settings using the jumpers. I cant see it being the CPU clocks though.

Thanks fore replying. :)

It has done ti to me before with my old socket 939 computer, i had it running on 2.7ghz for over a year and one day it decided it didnt like it

All is ok now m8 thanks i just reset the jumpers. Thing is would it be ok to re-overclock again to the previous settings?

Thanks

You can always try it, if it doesnt work then just reset the bios again and try a slightly higher vcore as that is why it normally wont boot
