hi all, having some issues with my computer it was built and all running fine, i had been on it turnt it off, then went to go back on later in the day and all i got was a black screen no mouse cursor nothing, any help with what this could be would be great. many thanks

Will need a bit more info.

Specification of computer?

CPU.
Motherboard.
Graphics Card.
Power Supply.
RAM.
OS.

etc.

I would suggest if you are able to do so.

Remove Graphics Card.

Leave a single stick of RAM in.

Disconnect all Hard Drives/CD/DVD drives.

Connect Monitor to Motherboard DVI/VGA connector.

Switch on.

See if it post's and you can get to the Bios.

If it fails to boot, would suggest Motherboard/CPU/RAM or PSU at fault.

If you can get to the Bois, then do the following.

Add Operation System HDD and repeat.

Add kit until it fails to boot.

The last thing added could be causing the fault.

removed every thing apart from one ram stick, but nothing screen is saying no signal, yet everything is spinning up fans, board is lighting up i have no idea to what is wrong

The only things i can think of are:-

*Reset the bios, usually involves removing and replacing a little plastic jumper. (might have to look it up in your motherboard manual)

*Reseat connection to the back of the monitor, change to a different connection type if possible for troubleshooting purposes e.g. VGA, DVI etc.

As above really, bios reset is a great start, if you cant find the jumper look for the battery on the board, pop it out, unplug from mains and hold in power button for a good minute.

Failing that and based on spec, take motherboard out of case and try to power it up externally? Find a PC speaker and attach to speaker headers to try to read beep codes?

Ideally id get a new MB maybe same make/model and try replacing like for like. Fans spinning but no boot can only be a few things really if we assume your connections are sound

bad ram seating (both sticks wont be dud)
BIOS corruption
CPU failure
Power supply connection issues or failure
motherboard failur

Have you updated the bios recently? Mine (MSI G45) had the same symptoms just after i updated the bios, my pc restarted when it was at 99% and because of that it bricked my mobo.

Could also be the CPU, a mobo can't post without a CPU.

Not too sure about RAM but I don't think it can post without RAM either, but the chances all the sticks of RAM died at once is slim.
