Hi, I was using my computer earlier and it suddenly shutdown then started back up and now wont display an image.

I've tried my monitor on another computer which works so that isn't the problem, and I've tried pluging in the monitor into another dvi slot and it doesn't work.

Does anyone have any ideas? Any help would be really appreciated.

Cheers

I just tried different variations of my ram but n still no signal. I don't have onboard graphics either, so I can't try that.

hmm, got a spare graphics card lieing around old one anything with an video input it seems if its not a ram problem it could well be your graphics card dieing on you?

I may do I'll have to have a look around tomorrow, man I've only had this card for just over a year, rubbish. I hope it hasn't blown.

Ok I just reseated my graphics card and still everything boots up but nothing is displaying an image. Any ideas? My card is a Asus ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB.

Thanks for the help so far guys.

have you tried a spare card yet?, long shot but maybe put the card into a different slot (if you have one)

nah ive only got an old agp card and my mobo has only pci slots.

Here's my spec:

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66Ghz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - £250.99Retail
Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
Asus ATI Radeon HD 4890 1GB GDDR5
Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800 (1600MHz) Low Latency Tri-Channel (PVT36G1600LLK)
OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Modular Power Supply
LG GGC-H20L Blu-Ray Reader & HD-DVD ROM Serial ATA Drive
Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (WD5001AALS)
Titan TTC-NK85TZ Fenrir CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775/LGA1366)

The weird thing is everything comes on, but i get no image at all. The monitor and cable works. Any other ideas?

Thanks again for the help guys

How long you've had that PC?
That PSU is full of cheap Chinese capacitors whose longer term reliability is as sure as weather forecast so after checking with another graphics card try with other PSU.

I've only had the pc for a year and a half. Thanks, I'll give the different psu a whirl as I've got a spare floating around somewhere. But unfortunatly I don't have a spare graphics card.

Hi guys, today I tried a different gra[phics card, and a new psu and still the computer displays no image.

I'm not too sure what else to try now, so I'm getting this bad feeling it maybe a problem with my cpu? If anyone can help out it would be really appreciated. Cheers :)

Just tried all the above, the graphics doesn't work in the other pci express and I removed my hard drives and tried to boot up with just the mobo, cpu memory and gfx and psu but still nothing? Damn this is so wierd I dunno what to do.
