Not to hijack your thread, as this may help you also! But I have had the exact same issue the last few weeks I think.. My PC just randomly shuts down with no errors or anything.. I've checked my Event Logs after and nothing in particular is alarming or tells me what it could be. Sometimes it won't boot back up after, after a minute it might or if I switch the PSU off and re-seat the lead and try again it might work, but that could be because I'm wasting a few minutes doing that anyway so it switches on regardless..
I've not had any other issues with my PC, nothing else PSU related or any GPU issues, etc. I can be web browsing and it happens, watching a video and it happens or in the middle of a game and it happens also. Nothing stressful and no errors are reported after.. Strange!
I've found these in my Event Viewer sometimes before & after it happens:

The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

My specs are Intel i5 750, 8GB RAM, ATI 6950, 60GB SSD, 1TB HD (2x500GB), OCZ 600w ModXStream.
I think it just wants me to buy a new rig.

But I'm holding out for Haswell before I upgrade.
