exactly i look forward to every image during the build...then give you abuse from my pure jealousy of an amazing idea and no doubtfully an amazing build :p

and id imagine good 10mm minimum for screws etc ??
 
I wish you luck sourcing thick acrylic, the best I managed to find was 3mm. It wasn't cheap either. It's a good idea however, I'd also be interested in how it progresses

clear is easy to source, dark tint Like i want can easily be had at 5mm would need to glue them together with invisible glue to get the 10mm.
£87 for the 4 panels to make the top and bottom

2 x 1380x500mm
2x 1370x490mm
Cut to size.

Could you not use 5mm and then have a frame and various other clear struts built inside (with hdds/radiators mounted on for example) to help take the weight?
