Hey guys,

Recently been purchasing new components for my computer to play Call of Duty 4 better. But it seems like Im not getting enough fps for what I have, my computer specs are:

Gigabyte H55M-UD2H motherboard
Intel Core i3 540 3.06GHz (Clarkdale) (Socket LGA1156)
Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz
MSI ATI Radeon HD 6850 Cyclone Power Edition 1GB
XFX pro 750watt PSU

For Call of Duty 4, im getting an average of 24-90fps on high settings, but when i go into high detailed areas its mainly between 25-40fps. Even when I lower the graphic settings there seems to be not much improvement, still ranges with 40-90fps. Thats with 1024 x 768 reso and everything else low. Any idea what the problem may be?

Thank you

Ahh thank you, my screen refresh rate is 60hertz, does that make any difference? Cus i probs set a maxfps to 60 or 40. I just need it to stop going under 30. Are those specs fine for modern games too?

dont listen to the 30 FPS nonsence.
Ive always been able to tel the difference between 30FPS and say 60 - 90 FPS
the human eye doesn't work in FPS its a different science.

you should be getting better average FPS on that game with those components.

Are you using the latest drivers ?

what are your temps like

My temps are really low,

My processor:
core 1 = 22c
core 2 = 16c

And the GFX Temp is = 29c

Yeah I have the latest drivers, got them from the AMD website for the Catalyst. Well I think i have the latest drivers anyway.

Im not sure what you mean by the first one, Im sure its two.
Gfx card is seated properly, and i have just been on the CCC, and googled some recommended settings so I will give that a try, did some myself and it did improve slighty, i will test these ones now.

Hmm...might use over drive and increase the GPU
