Hi ive got a problem that i need someone who knows stuff to help with.

Basically whenever i run programs my computer keeps crashing. It will just randomly come up with a blue screen with writting on and restart the computer!

This is a problem because im a big game player and it seems to do it more with computer games. Im playin the sims 2 and its crashing within 15 mins of starting it now.

Anyone got any ideas why and any way of sorting it? Ive scanned with norton and adaware and they say im fine. It sometimes crashes when runnin norton.

I need help and any would be vastly appreciated.

Also i want to reduce the number of processes that im running but on task manager it wont let me stop most of them. Is there any way of stopping most of the processes?

Thanks in advance.
Phil.

If its crashing after your running games for a while. It sounds like it could be something overheating when its under load. Check your CPU and graphics card temps.

As for the processes. check the faq from baddass at the top of section. Third post down advises you on some servies you can disable

One of the main causes of blue screen syndrome can be problems with the hard drive ie. bad sectors. Run scan disk first and see what shows. There are a number of programs that will check the status of your drive , some can even recover the bad sectors or at worst map them .
